The International Symposium on Feedstock Recycling of Polymeric Materials (ISFR) is a biennial international symposium focusing on the various processes for the valorization of polymeric wastes, initialized by the Research Association for Feedstock Recycling of Plastics, Japan (FSRJ).
The actual symposium 9th ISFR 2017 will be primarily aimed at international development of industrial, research and university sphere and presentation of new knowledge and findings in the field of polymeric materials recycling, plastics production, municipal and industrial waste landfill and energetic exploitation of biomass and waste by processes of combustion, gasification and pyrolysis. The relating topics are also relevant to scope of the conference.
The symposium objective is bringing together scientists, engineers and other industrial experts across the world to brainstorm on the recent developments in the mentioned topics, to establish new contacts for future cooperation and present results of their research activities.
The non-biodegradable nature of the plastic waste poses serious problems to the environment and hence, recycling and recovery of polymeric residues is the need of the hour. Also biomass, particularly residues of agriculture and forestry, is a potential source for the sustainable production of hydrocarbons. Furthermore, recycling techniques for precious metals and noble earth, originating mainly from e-waste, play a significant role in future raw materials supply. The increasing industrial utilization of polymer compounds, like carbon fiber reinforced plastic, demands appropriate recycling techniques. Also, relevant processing of organic materials, especially waste one, by pyrolysis and gasification is nowadays increasing because of undisputable benefits of these technologies.
The symposium encompasses all topics related to the recycling and recovery of polymeric wastes like waste plastics (municipal, industrial, production, process, e-waste) and biomass.
Polymer waste management around the world.
Polymeric waste availability and conversion methods – statistics and strategies.
Mechanical recycling of waste plastics.
